Some customers have noted occasional wait times, especially during peak hours, due to the restaurant's popularity. Although the dishes are generally well-loved, specific items, like the Markham Burger, can sell out quickly—leaving customers disappointed if they have set their hearts on it. A few patrons have mentioned that despite the overall positive experiences, certain meals can sometimes lack the intricate flavors they had hoped for. A regular complaint is about the parking; while there's a free parking lot, it can get crowded during busy weekends, making it tricky for latecomers.
The staff we're really friendly and the seating area looks lovely. The breakfast was well cooked and very generous, it included a pot of tea which is a bonus! I will return in the future.
The lady who served me on the till was so lovely and bubbly with a big smile on her face. The cakes are so big! The tiramisu was gorgeous.
Lasagne is really nice!
Had a late lunch here today. Was going to have a Markham Burger, unfortunately they had sold out. They are very popular. I had a ploughman's lunch instead. Ham, 4 thick cut slices [proper Ham] 3 different cheeses, half a black pudding Scotch egg, some lovely crusty bread. There should have been some Pork Pie, however this was substituted with a piece of Sausage Roll. Some Chorizo, pickled onions, beetroot and some salad. We had been waiting a bit, not an excessive amount of time and one of the staff came to ask if we would like a free drink or piece of cake as way of apology for having to wait. They were very busy, at first we refused but he insisted we had something, he said you can take it home. I had a pasty which he brought me in a take out box. My wife had a Salmon dish that was really nice, well presented and great value. We have eaten here quite a few times and have never been disappointed. The staff are great. Highly recommended
Set inside Markham Grange Garden Centre it has lovely seating arranged amongst the plants in a Greenhouse. A lovely atmosphere. Sometimes they have singers and you could imagine your in a old style tea room. The food is typical cafe but well presented. Very friendly and staff the prices reasonable
We came here for lunch with my mum in a wheelchair. It was easy for us to find a table. We had a wonderful lunch and would recommend to anyone to try this place out.
I had a very nice lamb pie, chips, peas and gravy. Then went shopping and then back to the restaurant for cream scone and a cuppa. Ps. You could feed a family on one scone, they are so big.
